House Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar has intensified talks with the political parties so as to end the environment of distrust pervasive among the parties.
Speaker Gharti this morning held separate talks with Nepali Congress President, Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, with a proposal to give continuity to the parliamentary business through consensus.
She urged both the top leaders to create an environment conducive to consensus, according to the House Speaker Press Advisor, Babin Sharma.
The parties are increasingly divided over whether the discussion on no-confidence motion should precede or follow the discussion on budget related bills.
The ruling party CPN (UML) has renewed calls for holding discussion on budget bills at first while NC and Centre have stuck with their stance on first dealing with the no-confidence motion.
The House Speaker told the senior leaders that she will be compelled to advance the earlier scheduled programmes at the Parliament if parties fail to come to terms.
